Overview

We are looking for a Senior Chef to support our Assisted Living Community in Minnetonka MN. This role is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and presented in accordance with applicable regulations and senior resident expectations. This position works on a team with Server/Culinary Assistants. This nutrition services position includes;

  • 80 hours every two weeks
  • Full time, day/evening shifts; 10:30AM - 7PM
  • Includes every other weekend & holiday rotation

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes 
  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards. 
  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents 
  • Set up line service 
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use 
  • Assists with special events 
  • Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date 
  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications 
  • Must have good problem solving and time management skills 
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred 

Preferred: 

  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree 
  • High volume cooking experience in a similar environment  
  • Kitchen management experience
  • Scratch cooking or sous chef experience
