Overview

  • Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and hourly wages ranging from $15.76 to $21.00 per hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experiences.

We are looking for an Activity Assistant to join our therapeutic team at our Assisted Living in Orono, MN! This role supports the planning and implementation of quality leisure/social events programs designed to assist senior age residents in maintaining their personal potential physically, socially, and mentally. This activities schedule includes; 

  • 40 hours every two weeks
  • Part-time; day/early evening shifts
  • Includes every other weekend and holiday

The Trails of Orono Senior Living community is located in a serene wooded setting just west of Minneapolis near Highways 12 and I-494 in Wayzata, MN. Managed by Ebenezer, we host 59 units among our Independent/Assisted Living and Memory care residential settings. Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Coordinates leisure programs, activities, exercise classes, and special events for older adults in an assisted living residence
  • Encourages resident participation, and reports changes in residents' mood and physical status
  • Promotes independence and helps develop socialization
  • May help escort residents to activities outside of the senior living community

Qualifications

Required:

  • Lead activities with older residents
  • Understanding of basic Microsoft/computer programs
  • Ability to interact effectively and compassionately with senior living residents/tenants
  • Communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but willing to consider others with the right skills and/or previous related work experience
  • One to three years previous experience either; working with older adults, leading activities, or working in a therapy or recreation role preferred or having formal related education
  • Preference is given to candidates with previous experience with memory loss care
  • Work experience in a customer service setting
