    Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living campus is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. We have an amazing team of tenured staff! The only thing missing is YOU!

     

    The Director of SHS directs, coordinates and provides spiritual health services for residents/clients, their families and staff according to the Ebenezer Society Mission Statement; serves as department manager, provides leadership, coordinates and supervises all functions and activities of the SHS department.

     

    The Director also functions as a chaplain who is the spiritual care specialist of the interdisciplinary care team responsible for assessing spiritual care needs and providing direct spiritual care and consultation to residents, families and staff.  It also functions as a liaison to spiritual and religious community organizations.

     

    The Director of SHS serves as a preceptor, mentor and educator to CPE students, under the supervision of a certified ACPE Educator, within the Fairview CPE Center, which educates spiritual care providers in the provision of spiritual health.

     

    This is a full time position.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Provides spiritual health services
    • Functions as member of the interdisciplinary team
    • Serves as a theological, ethical and educational resource
    • Direct observation and teaching of CPE students as negotiated within the CPE Center’s CEC Education team and assigned by the Director of Fairview CPE Center
    • Maintain role as “clergy in good standing “ with religious adjudicating body and APC/NACC communities

    Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in theology from a CHEA accredited theological seminary or religious studies program
    • Board Certified Chaplain (APC, NACC, NAJC) or eligible (must become BCC within two years of employment)
    • Four units of ACPE, Inc. accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE); completed level II outcomes of CPE
    • Endorsement by Faith Group
    • One to three years’ experience
    • Experience in long term care preferred
