Arbors at Ridges Assisted living 62 apartments and is part of the Ebenezer Ridges Senior Campus conveniently located off 35W in Burnsville, MN and near Fairview Ridges Hospital. The Activities Aide/Assistant reports to the Activities Director and would assist with the implementation of quality pre-planned leisure and social events programming, designed to support senior living residents in maintaining their personal potential physically, socially and mentally.  


This full-time recreation/therapy position includes;

  • 80 hours per two week pay period
  • Day/early evening shifts
  • Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Assists, coordinates, and may plan leisure programs, activities, exercise classes, and special events for older adults in an assisted living residence.  
  • Encourages resident participation, reports changes in residents mood and physical status. 
  • Promotes independence and helps develop socialization  
  • May help escort residents to activities outside of senior living community 
  • Other duties as assigned by Activities Director



  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft /computer programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively and empathetically with senior living residents/tenants.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable leading activities with elderly residents.


  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but willing to consider others with the right aptitude and/or previous related work experience. 
  • One to three years previous experience either working with the elderly, leading activities, or working in a therapy or recreation role preferred or have formal related education. 
  • Preference given to candidates with previous experience with memory loss care.
