We are located near Highway 10 and County 23 in St Cloud, MN. The Sanctuary is always looking for qualified team members who share our dedication to our core values of Dignity, Integrity, Service, Compassion and Innovation. Our community consists of 101 Assisted Living and 36 Memory Care units, featuring the Dimensions program.

 

We are looking for an Activity Assistant! This position includes the following : 

  • 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Assists, coordinates, and may plan leisure programs, activities, exercise classes, and special events for older adults in an assisted living residence.  
  • Encourages resident participation, reports changes in residents mood and physical status. 
  • Promotes independence and helps develop socialization  
  • May help escort residents to activities outside of senior living community 
  • Other duties as assigned by Activities Director

Qualifications

Required:

  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft /computer programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively and empathetically with senior living residents/tenants.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable leading activities with elderly residents.

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but willing to consider others with the right aptitude and/or previous related work experience.
  • One to three years previous experience either; working with the elderly, leading activities, or working in a therapy or recreation role preferred or have formal related education.
  • Preference given to candidates with previous experience with memory loss care.
  • Work experience in a customer service setting.
