Overview

The Front Desk Attendant with our affordable housing apartments serves as ambassador of the community during non-business hours. Desk attendant/receptionist provides oversight and a customer service experience that will always be remembered with the highest level of responsiveness. This position includes:

  • On-call/casual day, evening, overnight
  • Must pick up three shifts a month; one shift being a weekend shift

A federally-subsidized, low-income housing community, Ebenezer Park Apartments is a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 residence. This 200-unit complex is conveniently located in historic Midtown Minneapolis, MN with easy access to public transportation.  We are among the first in senior housing buildings designed with the needs of the Deaf and Hard of hearing community in mind.  

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Provides responsive customer service to all customers by maintaining an approachable, active, professional, and positive presence at the front desk.  
  • Assures prompt and positive action and follow up on all resident service requests, complaints, suggestions. 
  • Serves as host for building activities and events, including set-up and clean-up 
  • Provides safe exit and entry to building, maintains guestbook and address outdoor concerns 
  • Assist with new move-ins and move-outs that occur during non-business hours as necessary 
  • During non-business hours answers phones, monitors security cameras, maintains clean workspace, administrative assistance for employment and rental applications, records work order requests, and filing/copying/collating, mail 
  • Responds to fire, maintenance, and security emergencies when they occur in the building and contacts appropriate staff or professional personal 
  • Provides various maintenance, housekeeping, culinary and safety duties; conducts safety rounds in building, maintains aviary/aquarium, empties trash, clears snow on front walk, unclog resident sinks or toilets, changes light bulbs and smoke detectors, and helps set up for events. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • 0-1 years of related or relevant experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail    
  • High level customer service and interpersonal skills   

Preferred: 

  • High school diploma preferred 
  • 1-3 years of related or relevant experience 
  • Basic office skills such as MS office, excel and word
